On 12 February, RADM Craig Wood, Deputy Commander of Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, visited the Maritime GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence.
The visit took place as part of his official programme at the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute.
During the visit, Rear Admiral Wood was briefed on the Centre’s mission, core activities, and ongoing projects, as well as its contribution to NATO maritime operations through specialized geospatial, meteorological, and oceanographic support.
The engagement provided an opportunity to exchange views on current maritime challenges and underscored the critical role of environmental information and scientific expertise in enhancing NATO’s decision-making processes and operational effectiveness.
